Getting a boxed bike from Hawthorne , LA to LAX

I'm going to be flying out of LAX with a boxed bike and after any suggestions on the best way to get from Hawthorne LA to LAX with the big bike box. Happy to take public transportation if this is an option. Alternatively can you get boxes and pack the bike at the airport?

Thanks Carl.

Ride to Airport

Hawthorn is not far.  If you have the box, fold it and tie it to your rear bags and handle bar.  I rode to the airport in Budapest this way.  Safe and functinal.  Box the bike at the airport.

My guests have sometimes taken an Uber.

Loss of strength

An interesting option, But there is significant downside to it.

It’s worth considering for keeping budget down and maintaining independence is your prime goal. However, once you’ve done that to the box for easy transport, and then re-deployed (lots of tape etc.) into container-form at the airport, It is a whole lot less strong than the original box. It won’t protect your bike nearly as well as if you used a box straight from the shop, with staples and factory glue still creating “box strength” on all but one side.
