Warmshowers Forums Disabled

Dear Warmshowers Community, we know this is a time of concern for everyone around the globe due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  In an effort to streamline communication and better address the current needs of our community in a timely manner, we are temporarily disabling the forums and directing everyone to the Warmshowers Facebook Group. This will allow the Warmshowers Community a centralized place for comments, questions, and concerns related to touring and hosting. A while ago, I received a "request from a Board member" (Jack Turner).

No, it was not a request to stay. It was not really a request for anything either. It was a message that Warmshowers will delete stuff from profiles.  I do not understand what I am supposed to do, but it was "thanking" me for improving the warmshowers experience.  

I find it strange that I cannot find more information here, but the forum is almost dead, I suppose.

It is irritating on many levels. I would like to have Randy back.

These aren't sent out through the request system though are they? They are sent as bulk emails like the newsletter.

Ah, that post and thread gives a good explanation!  (Also makes clear that the hired professional developers are a bit amateurish.)

No, this request (and a previous one by another Board member) did not come through the request system. But at first instance, the header sounds a bit like that.
