Proofride looks and smells

Proofide looks and smells nice and is a pleasure to apply, but it can be argued that it is an overpriced gimmick. Once the saddle is already well-broken in and the leather no longer needs to be especially supple, you can just use neutral-color shoe polish to ensure that it remains waterproof. For the last 25,000 km I have used only shoe polish and my saddle is in excellent shape.
